Jeff Ballard
Jeff created NWM in 2011 and has 30 years experience in water business management including the planning, design, construction and project management of infrastructure projects from both owner and contractor sides. He has spent much of his career specialising in the water sector within local government, and has experience in other sectors including the construction industry, as well as technical exposure in roads, geotechnical, stormwater, and environmental engineering.
Jeff partners with his clients to add value to their operations through accurate scoping and prioritising both capital and non-capital projects, delivering these projects efficiently and minimising overall project and business risks.

NWM has a number of industry partners which join to take on larger projects or to provide services including drafting, structural design and even irrgation design. These partners are located in Townsville, regional North Queensland, and Brisbane.
The tailoring of the services provides a neat fit for many specialty projects.
Jeff has been a financial member of the Australian Water Association for over 20 years and completed 2 x 2 year terms on the Queensland State Branch Committee.
He has an active interest through the regular paticipation in local meetings and conferences and has been a committee member for the AWA North Queensland Regional Conference since 2008, and was the Chair for 3 years.
Jeff has facilitated local group meetings in Townsville and also keeps in tune with QldWater activities and has attended their and IPWEAQ conferences regularly since 2002.
Jeff's vision for AWA in Queensland is to encourage the integration and rationalisation of strategies from various specialties to aid in better regional decision making from government.

Congratulations to Jeff Ballard for winning the Regional Service Award 2016. This was nominated by his peers for his outstanding and ongoing work in the water industry.
The Australian Water Association QLD Branch Awards is the highest accolade that currently exists in the QLD Water Industry. The Water Awards have been designed to acknowledge the best of the best in the QLD Water Sector as well as recognise exceptional achievements in a range of industry and individual categories.
The QLD Awards are in line with the Australian Water Association National Awards and provide the opportunity for the QLD winners to enter in the National Awards which are presented at Ozwater each year.
Achievements
Based in Townsville North Queensland and the Gold Coast, NWM specialises within the water sector in the management and delivery of water and wastewater infrastructure in regional and rural North Queensland. The scope of services encompasses the total water cycle.
NWM’s management services include assistance in the running of technical services management functions of private and public organisations through program management activities, government regulatory obligations, total asset management planning and providing industry technical support.
At project level NWM can manage multiple mid sized projects from inception and through each project phase using both project management and technical management skills. For larger projects NWM has an established network of capable industry partners to fulfil client needs. This capability also includes the undertaking of planning, design and documentation, and construction management services. NWM also provides design certification services.
